Saving a Life: QPR and Naloxone Training introduces participants to suicide prevention and intervention by building understanding of common myths, warning signs, and key risk and protective factors. The training develops practical skills to recognize crisis situations and respond safely and effectively using core QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) techniques. Participants also learn how to identify the signs of an opioid overdose, understand how Naloxone/Narcan works, and follow step-by-step actions that can save a life in an emergency.
This training builds confidence and reduces fear and hesitation when responding to someone experiencing suicidal thoughts or an opioid overdose emergency by providing clear, evidence-based action steps and guided practice. Participants learn how to connect individuals in crisis to appropriate professional, community and emergency support.
Training is intended for all employees of your organization who wish to learn and support these lifesaving efforts. After the first two hours of this training, you become certified in QPR. Participation in the Naloxone & Opioid Overdose Response Training is optional and included in the cost of the combined training. The combined training session is three-hours in total.
